Lumia Cyan Update

Coming later this year, Windows Phone 8.1 will provide plenty of new features to Windows Phone 8 devices which include the Cortana personal assistant, Action Center, Start Screen Background, Lock Screen theme, Word Flow keyboard and more. As for owners of Nokia devices, they will receive even more features in their Lumia devices. This is due to the fact that Windows Phone 8.1 will be combined together with the company’s in-house improvements in an update package that the company dubbed as the Lumia Cyan. Among new stuff that Nokia will release into WP8-based devices via Lumia Cyan update is an improved version of Nokia Creative Studio that will include five new image filters. Other than that, users will able to see all the effects on Smart Shot, Cinemagraph, and Refocus photos directly in the Camera Roll itself.  An updated version of Nokia Storyteller app will also be released alongside the Lumia Cyan update which features video slideshow (nicknamed as Living Images) that can be shared to Facebook and Twitter. Meanwhile, Lumia Cyan will mark the debut for Nokia SensorCore technology which allows the usage of sensors on Lumia devices for fitness and adventure-oriented apps without sacrificing battery life. Information regarding this particular tech is still limited at the moment since it is still in private beta but it is supported by the new Lumia 930, Lumia 630, and Lumia 635. Meanwhile, Lumia Cyan update will also provide the support for Dolby Surround Sound Capture on Lumia 1520 and the Verizon-exclusive Lumia Icon. Hence, videos that are recorded on both devices will feature 5.1 Dolby Digital Plus sound format. Last but not least, the Lumia Cyan update will also allow owners of Lumia 1520 and Lumia Icon to wirelessly project their phone display to TVs, projectors, and other displays that supports Miracast technology. Both features will be available on Lumia 930 as well. Sounds interesting ? Unfortunately, you still need to wait for quite some time before you can utilize all these new Lumia Cyan features on your Lumia WP8 devices since the update will only be released some time in summer which could be any time between May and September. Unless you grab a Nokia Lumia 630 or Lumia 635 that will be released in Asia starting from next month and come pre-installed with Lumia Cyan.

All The New Features On Windows Phone 8.1

While Cortana was certainly one of the biggest highlights from the opening keynote of Microsoft Build Developer Conference last night, there are still plenty of new features from Windows Phone 8.1 that were shown on stage at the event. One of them is the Action Centre which is generally WP8.1’s own pull down notification menu just like those on Android and iOS. Among the main function of Action Center is to display notifications from any apps in user’s device regardless whether they are pinned into the Start Screen or else. Nevertheless, users will actually have the ability to determine the apps that would appear on Action Center. Additionally, the Action Center also provide quick access to their settings such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Airplane Mode, and others. Users will be able to choose which settings to appear on Action Center as well. Apart from that, Windows Phone 8.1 will also feature customizable lock screen themes. For starters, Microsoft have worked together with the famed WP developer, Rudy Hyun (creator of the popular third party Instagram app for WP, 6tag) to come out with several theme for the feature such as the Diagonal and Tokyo themes that Joe demonstrate on stage last night. With that new update, users will also able to define a background image for their Windows Phone 8.1 which essentially becomes yet another personalization option for users.

The update will also bring over the additional third column for Live Tiles on Start Screen from Windows Phone devices with 5-inch and above screens, to all screen sizes. Update will also mark the addition of new Sense apps alongside the existing Data Sense app. One of them is Wi-Fi Sense which enable users to set their devices to connect to quality free public hotspots when their WP8.1 device is within the hotspot’s range. The app also allows users to automatically connect to their contacts’ Wi-Fi networks. There is also the Storage Sense app that enables users to choose either internal storage or microSD card (if their device has such feature) to save their apps, music, and photos. The Battery Saver app for Windows Phone 8.1 will also with a new section that lists down the amount of power that app uses. Windows Phone 8.1 also comes with an updated Calendar that has been redesigned to look more like Microsoft Outlook on PC. It features a new week view together with the ability just swipe right or left in order to move from one day to another. The swipe gesture also works in week and month view. Not enough with that, Skype will also be updated for Windows Phone 8.1 to include integration with phone dialler which will allows quick transition from normal calls to Skype call.

A new, Swype-like keyboard called Word Flow will also be included in Windows Phone 8.1 which is designed to allow users type quickly by gliding their fingers over the keyboard. Word Flow keyboard and App Store, Windows Phone 8.1The new Word Flow keyboard and redesigned Windows Phone App Store on Windows Phone 8.1. Internet Explorer 11 will also made its debut on the platform through Windows Phone 8.1 which feature browser tab button, InPrivate browsing, password caching, and reading mode. Last but not least, the App Store in Windows Phone 8.1 has been also been redesigned with a new interface that will include a new section called For You which highlights apps based on your preferences. Right after its official unveiling at Build, Microsoft has posted a video that showed how majority of the features that we discussed above in action. The video is rather lengthy at 16 minutes (the final 4 to 5 minutes were actually focused on Windows 8.1 update though) but it certainly did provide a good and in-depth look at Windows Phone 8.1. Windows Phone 8.1 will be rolled out to consumers throughout the world in the next few months although developers will be able to access the update within this month. The update will also come pre-installed in new Windows Phone devices such as Nokia’s Lumia 630, Lumia 635, and Lumia 930 that were also announced at Build last night.

Telefon Samsung Dengan Tizen OS

Dari segi pemetaan, ia menyokomg Nokia HERE Maps.

Windows Phone 8.1 – What’s New ?

The latest software development kit (SDK) for Microsoft’s extensive update for the Windows Phone platform has been released for developers. While Microsoft is making it a point update and calling it Windows Phone 8.1, it is very clear that this is one major overhaul of the platform, featuring plenty of useful new features. From on-screen buttons, new multitasking options and the mysterious removal of Facebook integration, here’s all you need to know about what the Windows Phone 8.1 SDK reveals – and more. From the get-go, it is obvious that Windows Phone 8.1 now allows for plenty of personalisation options. The SDK shows that on-screen button support is now enabled, which would allow smartphone makers more flexibility in designing their Windows Phones. These on-screen buttons (or the navigation bar) can also be customized to match the background or even the accent colour, and apps can also auto-hide the navigation bar when required. Next, is a new UI addition to WP8.1′s App Switcher. After adding an “x” button to close apps in Windows Phone 8 Update 3, Windows Phone 8.1 users can also close apps by swiping down on the app icon in the App Switcher – a similar gesture to close apps in Windows 8. Internet Explorer on WP8.1 has also been updated to version 11.

The update now allows users to watch YouTube videos in windowed mode by default, in addition to the full-screen mode previously. Embedded YouTube videos on other sites will also play within the page itself. As for other software integration, Facebook accounts integration has been removed , indicating that a standalone Facebook app may be on the cards. There’s also the option of using selecting a default app to open texts. Microsoft’s newly-renamed OneDrive is also present, while Windows Phone 8.1 also adds iCloud account and even VPN support. Besides that, there are also several useful additions to the Windows Phone 8.1 settings, such as separate volume controls for media and notifications, an option to notify users when the device is connected to a slower charger, a Battery Power Sense app to measure power usage by each app, support for projecting the screen to a monitor or TV via USB, a Storage Sense app to allow Windows Phones with microSD the option of installing apps and storing downloaded files as well as medial files straight to the microSD card.

Finally, two highly-anticipated additions to Windows Phone 8.1, namely the notification centre and the Cortana virtual assistant, is not present in the SDK, an indication that the company is still keeping it under wraps. However, internal PowerPoint slides have been leaked online, revealing that Microsoft will be calling the notification centre Action Centre. Similar to Android, a short swipe down from the top of the screen will reveal the Action Centre, where there are four toggles for quick shortcuts that can be customized by the user. A battery level percentage is also shown. A longer swipe down will reveal the second portion of the Action Centre, showing off full notifications collected from apps. In addition, apps can also be configured to intelligently manage notifications, where it can silently add, update and delete notifications. It is obvious that what has been revealed in the Windows Phone 8.1 is just a preview of plenty more features contained in the update. Microsoft’s Build developer conference in April should reveal all WP8.1′s features, including Cortana

Fungsi Yang Tidak Digunakan Pada Android

Sekiranya anda mempunyai sebarang fungsi-fungsi menarik lain, jangan lupa kongsikan ia bersama kami melalui ruangan komen dibawah.
